The game is based on the original highly acclaimed video game Final Fantasy VII, released in 1997, the first title in a multi-part series. Previously, the game had been exclusive to PlayStation 5. It’ll be available on the Epic Games Store, on December 16th. But epic is buying up exclusive games rather than making their own games - and that's the problem. Origin, Ubisoft's one, epic made theirs for fork-knife etc. Every big company does that - make your own launcher for your games. The PC port features 4K resolution support, HDR support, XInput- and DirectInput-compliant controller support, keyboard and mouse support, and support for a frame rate of up to 120 frames per second (for the high-end PC spec). Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is an action-adventure RPG from Square Enix and is the current-gen PC port of the PlayStation 5 version of the same name. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is coming to PC. Yeah, but valve's games are also pretty old and they made the games themselves. On Friday, Square Enix also released the PC specs for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. (In addition, Forspoken will be available in a $94.99 Digital Deluxe bundle.) Reaction to pricing of both titles has been predictably negative on online forums, but more price-conscious PC gamers can likely hold out a bit longer for a coupon from the Epic Games Store, or, in Forspoken’s case, a Steam sale to buy in. Square Enix, at least, now appears comfortable trying out pricing parity with new-gen consoles on PC, as illustrated by Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on the Epic Games Store and Forspoken on Steam, which is also listed at $69.99. And last year, when publishers 2K Games, Activision, and Sony Interactive Entertainment bumped their new-generation game prices up to $69.99, their PC equivalents remained at $59.99. ![]() When new AAA console games made the jump from $49.99 to $59.99 during the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 console generation, the price of PC games held around the $50 mark for some time. PC gamers have, in the past, sometimes enjoyed a $10 discount on new games. ![]() ![]() An extra surprise is that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade costs $69.99 on PC - the same as the price for the PlayStation 5 version, but a price that many PC gamers aren’t used to paying ( yet). Square Enix confirmed a Windows PC version at The Game Awards on Thursday, which will arrive on the Epic Games Store on Dec. But with this price, and for a game that's essentially part one of three, I'd rather wait for the eventual sale and play the original in the meantime.Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, the expanded remake of Square’s classic role-playing game, is coming to PC next week. I don't have a PlayStation so I can't play it anyway. ![]() Paying almost double the price for the same game on PS4, on PC, especially when the original game from 24 years ago can be bought on Steam for $9.99 / £9.99, is a real shame. It's helped define careers and friendships since its release in 1997, with the story still talked about today through written media, podcasts, videos and more. There are many people out there who hold this particular entry of Final Fantasy close to their hearts. This is especially the case when Epic co-founder and CEO Tim Sweeney stated in an interview, that the games offered on the Store would be cheaper than anywhere else. We've reached out to Square Enix for comment as to why the price is so high, but it feels like a slap in the face for nostalgia and fans of Final Fantasy VII.
